Reducing our energy consumption is crucial in lowering our carbon footprint. Eco-design is our ally, and we have found inspiration in a traditional practice from hot countries: using a light-coloured cladding that reflects the sun’s heat instead of absorbing it.
After a successful test on several of our sites in 2023, our new mobile homes are now equipped with clear roofs. This change allows us to:
- Reduce thermal build-up and improve comfort for our guests: the light-coloured roofs of our new mobile homes absorb less heat, helping to maintain a naturally lower temperature inside the accommodation. This provides our guests with a more comfortable stay during the summer months.
- Lower air-conditioning consumption: as the temperatures in our mobile homes are more comfortable, our holidaymakers use less air-conditioning, and when it’s on, they consume less energy to reach the same temperature.
This project was initiated by the ECGS teams, represented by Simon Bonelli.
